This well-established company is very highly respected in their specialisms across the UK. This is a client who has a very supportive culture and values your personal goals as much as theirs.

This role sits at the heart of the advice process. You will work closely with Financial Advisers, providing technical expertise, robust analysis and structured support that ensures clients receive holistic advice that is not only compliant, but genuinely right for them.

It’s a role for someone who enjoys complexity, values precision, and takes pride in doing things properly.  Could this be you?

The opportunity

As a Paraplanner, you’ll play a critical role in the delivery of holistic financial planning, supporting Financial Advisers and clients through complex, often high-value financial planning needs.

You will be trusted to operate with autonomy, professionalism and technical confidence, acting as a cornerstone of the advice process.

This role offers hybrid working with a Birmingham city-centre head office and a structured office presence that supports collaboration and flexibility. You will be in the office 2 days a week to bond and share best practice with your team of like-minded Paraplanners.

    • estate planning
    • retirement and at-retirement planning
    • pension switching and benefit crystallisation
    • investment replacement analysis
  • Building robust, fully evidenced client case files
  • Supporting Financial Advisers with technically complex cases and talking with them over video as well as via email and on the telephone
  • Ensuring advice meets regulatory expectations and internal governance standards
  • Maintaining accurate systems, records and documentation
  • Supporting advisers with application preparation and client documentation
  • Acting as a technical point of reference for complex planning scenarios
  • Contributing to service standards, quality assurance and continuous improvement

About you

This role is ideal for someone who brings both technical strength and loves paraplanning!

You will have:

  • Experience in paraplanning or previous experience as a Financial Adviser/IFA
  • Either Level 4 Diploma in Financial Advice (or equivalent), or starting to work towards it
  • Strong technical capability in complex planning areas
  • Experience writing quality suitability reports
  • Confidence handling complex client scenarios
  • Strong analytical thinking and structured problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Confidence working across multiple systems and platforms
  • The ability to communicate clearly with advisers and colleagues
  • A calm, organised and professional working style
  • A self-motivated, proactive mindset with strong personal standards

You will enjoy working as part of a team, but you’ll also be comfortable taking ownership, responsibility and accountability for your work.

What’s on offer

  • A great work environment and the ability to work from home
  • Hybrid working model with Birmingham city-centre base
  • Great company benefits for you!
  • Strong pension provision
  • Generous annual leave allowance plus additional wellbeing/culture days
  • Volunteering days each year
  • Enhanced family-friendly policies
  • Access to wellbeing, retail and lifestyle benefits
