The Opportunity

You’ll work closely with Financial Planners, the Head of Paraplanning and the wider operations team, acting as a trusted technical partner across research, report writing, suitability, and client servicing. Your work will directly shape client outcomes, adviser confidence and the continued growth of the paraplanning function.

What You’ll Be Doing

Technical Research & Advice Support

  • Collaborating with advisers pre- and post-meeting to understand client needs and implement agreed actions
  • Conducting in-depth analytical research on existing arrangements, products and solutions
  • Preparing detailed recommendation reports, investment strategies and cashflow modelling
  • Reviewing and commenting on discretionary fund manager performance
  • Acting as a technical resource for advisers, helping ensure high-quality, suitable client outcomes

Client Service & Relationship Management

  • Producing clear, compliant Suitability Reports across pensions (including DB), investments, protection, mortgages and more
  • Identifying additional opportunities or issues during research and ensuring these are addressed
  • Planning and preparing DM and MiFID II-aligned annual reviews
  • Adding value by anticipating needs and addressing peripheral considerations
  • Ensuring all client files remain accurate, compliant and up-to-date
  • Delivering efficient ongoing servicing with regular updates to clients and advisers
  • Building strong working relationships with policyholders, partners, providers, introducers and external DFMs

General Responsibilities

  • Managing a busy workload autonomously, meeting strict deadlines and prioritising adviser demands
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of legislation and financial services best practice
  • Supporting wider team projects and contributing to continuous improvement
  • Undertaking CPD to maintain and enhance technical expertise

Skills & Experience We’re Looking For

  • Minimum QCA Level 4 qualified
  • At least 5 years’ experience in financial services, with 3 years in paraplanning
  • Strong technical knowledge across tax-efficient investments (BR/EIS/VCT), offshore bonds and complex structures
  • Experience working with HNW clients and multiple portfolios
  • Excellent Excel capability, including advanced data analysis
  • Experience analysing multi-entity, multi-currency cashflows
  • Confident in using back-office systems (ideally Intelliflo) and research tools (FE Analytics, Selectapension, Dynamic Planner)
  • Highly organised, calm under pressure and able to deliver high-quality work to tight deadlines
  • A positive, proactive attitude with strong problem-solving skills and sound judgement
  • Reliable, discreet and able to build strong internal and external relationships
