A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Research Analyst to join a very successful and well respected Portfolio Management Department based in Bath

As well as maintaining the bespoke fund panels, you will be actively involved in writing investment research papers on markets and selected funds for company-wide communications

As a key member of the Investment Team, you will also support the operations and management the Discretionary Model Portfolio Service, in relation to fund research

A key element of the role, will be overseeing and managing the bespoke fund panels as well as the fund research and the production of Buy/Sell notes. You will need to be well versed in researching and analysing funds and have excellent written communication skills

The role holder reports to the Head of Portfolio Management and is primarily responsible for the quarterly maintenance of 150-200 fund fact-sheets which make up the collective investment fund Buy list, plus a number of other investment panels. The investment fund panels are used by 200+ Financial Advisers nationally across the company’s offices

You will meet fund providers and fund managers in order to stay up to date with funds and market developments and ensure a clear and detailed audit trail exists for bespoke panel decisions and guidance delivered

Another part of your role will be to answer fund panel and technical queries and provide supporting written guidance. You will also work on the provision of fund research whilst maintaining the bespoke fund panels

Your communications skills will be utilised to provide relevant, meaningful, written information and communications to the business that is easy to understand, use and access and will aid the Financial  Advisers in performing more effectively.

By developing working relationships with a range of fund providers and asset managers, you will ensure that the teams are fully informed of fund developments, market changes and economic conditions

You will need to be qualified in:

Certificate in Discretionary Investment Management (RQF Level 4 – or equivalent) – R01 + J10

Or: Investment Management Certificate – IMC (or equivalent)

Or: Level 4 Certificate in Investment Management (CISI – or equivalent)

Or: Minimum CFA Level 1 (or equivalent)
