This well renowned national Wealth Advice firm makes it easy for people to save and invest for a better future. To achieve that, they bring together thoughtful, very capable people who care deeply about doing the right thing for clients and it will be your role to support them with considered technical advice on complex cases.  As a Senior Technical Advice Specialist, you’ll be the trusted technical and regulatory authority within a national Financial Advisory team. This is a highly visible, influential role, supporting around 80 Financial Planners across the UK with complex client cases, evolving legislation, and regulatory interpretation.

You’ll work closely with senior Advisory leaders, the Advisory Proposition team, and the Training function, acting as a sounding board, problem-solver, and technical partner. This role suits someone who enjoys depth, collaboration, and being the person others turn to when things get complex.

Currently you might be a Technical Advice Specialist, or your background might be as a highly technical Paraplanner, or HNW Financial Planner, or a technically minded manager with:

  • Experience delivering technical training or coaching
  • Exposure to adviser propositions or regulated advisory governance

What you’ll be doing

  • Acting as the go-to expert for technical and regulatory queries across pensions, investments, trusts, protection, and personal taxation
  • Supporting Financial Planners directly with complex client cases, including changes in legislation (for example pensions, IHT, and trust planning)
  • Interpreting new, draft, and evolving regulation and translating this into practical guidance for advisers
  • Horizon scanning for legislative and regulatory change and communicating impacts clearly across the Advisory business
  • Providing technical input into complaints where specialist expertise is required
  • Reviewing internal policies, processes, and product propositions for technical and regulatory accuracy
  • Monitoring the advised market and making recommendations relating to third-party products
  • Identifying adviser knowledge gaps and delivering targeted technical training
  • Maintaining and developing internal technical guidance and frameworks
  • Working collaboratively with your direct manager and the Training Manager to support adviser development and technical excellence
  • Your Financial Planners are UK-wide, so collaboration is largely via video

About you

  • Level 6 Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning (or equivalent)
  • Deep technical knowledge across pensions, ISAs, investment bonds, trusts, protection, income tax, CGT Capital Gains Tax
  • Strong experience interpreting legislation and applying it in real client scenarios
  • A collaborative, approachable style – someone advisers actively want to work with
  • The ability to work autonomously and take ownership as a technical authority
  • Exposure to adviser propositions or regulated advisory governance

Why apply?

You’ll be joining a well-established, national financial advisory business with a strong reputation for technical excellence and client-focused outcomes. The culture values expertise, thoughtful challenge, and continuous learning, offering a supportive environment where specialist knowledge is genuinely respected.

What’s on offer

  • Discretionary annual bonus and annual pay review
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays and Christmas closure
  • Flexible and hybrid working
  • Pension scheme
  • Private medical insurance and healthcare cash plan
  • Income protection and life assurance (4x salary)
